You may remember back in December 2025 we posted this article stating Hancock Prospecting Pty Ltd issued a low-ball offer to purchase Hancock.com.au from a client of DBR (Domain Brokers).
We stated in that article that Belinda Breakspear from McCullough Robertson was threatening that if our client didn’t accept their low-ball offer, she would “prepare and file a .auDRP domain name complaint with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and to vigorously pursue the transfer of the Domain Name to Our Client (Hancock Prospecting Pty Ltd).”
Well, in February 2025, Ms Breakspear filed the auDRP WIPO Complaint in an attempt to wrongfully hijack (in our opinion as Domain Brokers for over 14 years) the domain “Hancock.com.au” from our client.
You’ll remember in our last article, before Ms Breakspear filed the auDRP WIPO Complaint, we responded to her that should she move forward in filing an auDRP WIPO Complaint, she would be guaranteed to lose and probably be found guilty of REVERSE DOMAIN NAME HIJACKING.
With the help of a great lawyer, we have now helped our client rightfully defend his rights to own his own domain name. Our defence was submitted to WIPO earlier this month, in March 2025, at further expense to our client.
In a stunning turn of events, today, on 20 March 2025, a few weeks after we submitted our response to WIPO, Ms Breakspear requested WIPO to a “suspension” of the proceedings in an attempt to “make another offer”.
Our client REJECTS the suspension of the auDRP WIPO process and desperate attempt to make another low-ball offer.
Our client wants to see the auDRP WIPO Complaint through to it’s rightful conclusion.
It would be interesting to know how much money Belinda Breakspear from McCullough Robertson has billed her client Hancock Prospecting Pty Ltd so far…
