I was looking over my domains today having a cleanup and getting rid of a few domains that I no longer need or want.
Like many of you, I have acquired my domains over the years by either hand registration, from other people or on the drops or auctions.
It leads me to this question to our readers-
What are some of your best / favorite hand registered domains you have picked up over the years in .com.au or .com.
There are no time restrictions on this so even if you were wise enough (or just plain lucky enough) to grab them back in the 90βs then they all count.
Here are a few of mine to get the ball rolling.
LedDownlights.com & LedDownlights.com.au (Reg 2007)
Keynotes.com.au (Reg 2012), FreeVpn.com.au (Reg 2018), CareerAdvice.com.au (Reg 2007), Podcaster.com.au (Reg 2018), FutureTech.com.au (Reg 2014).
I sold two domains in the last month that were reg fee acquisitions. Here are a couple of my favourites (both .com.au):
gamechanger – heaps of interest/visitor traffic
ebranding – the brand for my marketplace since 2014 π
They’re definitely not the most valuable reg fee domains in my portfolio, but I’m not willing to share details of the others publicly! π
Hey Luke
Thanks for sharing and I like both of those names.π
I am sure I have looked up the availability of both of those names several times over the years! ππ
Yes, I realise that many may not want to share names that they hand registered regardless of when as it may introduce challenges when trying to sell them.
I do like short domains starting with βeβ such as your eBranding.com.au name.
I have picked up a few myself over the years such as eJets.com.au, eStaff.com.au and eMatch.com.au.
Still plenty of great hand registrations possible in .com.au. Very tough with .com
Mentionable recent hand regs sales include cbdoil, treasurehunt, xoom, petmart all 4 figs.
Hey Ricky
Yes there are.
They were good names. All sales to end users?
3/4 to end users, not sure about petmart (was a godaddy BIN).
Yep, Petmart is still pointing to a lander so time will tell as to what happens with that one.
Thanks for sharing Ricky π
Ed
No worries.
Plenty of dumb hand registrations made too π
