(Editors Note – I ran Domainer.com.au from 2018-2021. The following blog post was published on Domainer.com.au on 8 November 2021 which stated that I sold Domainer to Ned O’Meara on that date. 44 days after this post, on December 22nd 2021, Ned on-sold it. Ned agreed that all of my posts would be removed before he sold it, so I could reprint some of those on this new website and brand. Many of the most important old “Domainer” articles now uniquely appear on this website at their original date.

Ned (Neddy) started Domainer back in 2015 and that’s when I really got hooked on buying, developing and sometimes selling great Australian domain names (if I didn’t need them for new businesses!)
I considered myself more of a professional domainer back in 2016 when I wrote my first blog on Domainer for Ned which was aptly called, “My first year as a Domainer”.
Fast forward to 2018 and after running it for three years, Ned sold Domainer to me and entrusted me to keep it going. At that time, Ned wrote; “I wanted to find the right person to take over my labour of love. That someone had to have a similar level of passion for the domain industry in Australia β and importantly, they also had to have the time to devote to the blog on a weekly basis.”
I took over the reins and I shined some light on all types of positive and negative aspects of the domain investor industry. I think I’m most proud of the 35 Domainer Shows Ed Keay-Smith and I were able to create. We met and interviewed some amazing entrepreneurs and domain investors and had a lot of fun.
I invested a lot of time and energy over the past three years, and it’s all been worth it and I’ll never forget it, but now I feel it’s time for me to move on. I have no doubt the community will rally behind Ned as he takes Domainer back to its roots and continues the fight to keep the domain name industry fair and transparent. As for me, I’ll be concentrating on building out more new businesses with my great domain names. I’ve also been spending a lot of time on blockchain and cryptocurrency technology, which I began looking into exactly four years ago this month, so I plan to spend a lot more time exploring these technologies even further.
Today, Ned has officially taken over the responsibility of being Publisher of Domainer.com.au (after this article). Any articles, posts or comments published from hereon in will be his legal responsibility.
Thank you to all our regular readers and supporters over the past three years, and especially to my good mate Ed Keay-Smith who worked with me on creating the Australian Domainer Show. I wish Ned all the best going forward, especially as we head into this next important chapter of Australian domain names.
Onward and upward Neddy!
Robert Kaay β 8 November 2021
All the best Robert and I’m sure Ned will enjoy being back to the helm.
G’day you old bugger! Long time no chat. Hope you and yours are all well.
Interesting waking up to this news this morning! I didnβt expect that (although I never expected a flu to change world events a few years ago either) I hope domainer keeps on punching in all things .au or is it .com.au
Thanks Rob & welcome back Ned
Erwin

Im looking forward to Ned being back in charge and being able to keep the rest of us more updated on what is really going on as he did before. As we know Ned will be back analysing and sorting through the BS that we get fed from the powers to be, Im sure there are a few people squirming in their seats a little bit more that they were last Friday.
Lead the charge Ned we are waiting in anticipation
