This last week I rang a few domain investors to get a quick check on how things are going in the Australian domain name digital asset market.
Complaints
I was told there are many complaints currently being made against legitimate domain name owners. If you’re experiencing complaints against your domain names please feel free to let us know.
We’re also aware of a three-letter domain name that is about to be placed into Policy Delete because the company name and ACN registration has been deregistered. Please be vigilant about updating and maintaining your company and business name renewals so you don’t lose your domain names.
Domain Sales
You know I like to publicly publish as many domain name sales as I can, especially because the vast majority of Australian domain names sales are done behind NDA’s and closed doors. Ed and I have been behind publishing pretty-much all of the public Australian domain name sales over the past 9 years that appear on multiple domain blog sites to this day.
Today, we’ve got another one for you.
The Assets Show was just exclusively told that Deals.com.au was purchased for $100,000 and this sale has been added to Top Domain Sales.
In other domain name sale news…
This month, DBR (Domain Name Brokerage) sold a 6-letter word, a “first-name” word (like Matilda or Catherine, but not these) for $50,000 USD, which works out to be around $70,000 AUD. We are still waiting for permission to see if we are allowed to publish this particular domain name sale.
I can also report I had an offer of $25,000 for a 7-letter one-word domain name this month, for one of my own domain names. I countered with $40k and the buyers have come back saying they are considering $30k. I’ll let you know what this domain name is if we come to an arrangement and the money appears in my bank account. As they say, the deal’s not done unless the money is in the bank. I think it’s at least worth $40k, so it may be hard to let this one go for $30k, anyway. More soon.
Please let us know if you have any great domain name sales story that we can discuss.
Expired / Dropping Domain Names
This month alone (June 2022), two new domain investors have seemingly come out of nowhere and have already registered 492 Australian domain names that have expired or been deleted. In the first 3 weeks of THIS MONTH ALONE.
Next week, we will be releasing the names of these two companies and which domain names they are gobbling up nearly every day. Many of them look to be trademark infringing registrations, so it’s going to be interesting to keep an eye on this public data over the coming months.
We will also be releasing some percentage stats that will show they are accumulating a majority percentage of every expired and deleted domain name, every month.
You can easily view every domain name that is registered after it has expired or been deleted by visiting Backorder.com.au and choosing a date and then clicking the REGISTERED button.
