According to IT Wire, some auDA members are not happy about a meeting that’s been called for a new auDA membership model.
The notice for the meeting, issued by auDA on 25 June, says: “The CMWG has arranged a forum that will take place at LaTrobe University’s City Campus in Melbourne at 4PM on 2 July.”
CMWG refers to the Consultation Model Working Group which was “convened in May to define and oversee the process of consultation with the auDA membership and wider Australian community”.
Some members are debating that this is an auDA Meeting, and more lead-time should be given, stating:

Why not give members more notice?
Why did auDA’s CEO Cameron Boardman insist to rush this with only 6 days notice?
Another example of .au namespace mismanagement which is out of touch with real Australian auDA members.
Easy to see why members want them sacked and new management to replace them ASAP to fix auDA and ensure the Government 29 requirements are met.
Simply Disgusting current management ruining our once secure and highly respected .au namespace.
Its a charade; going to this meeting is like walking out into your backyard and talking to leaves on a tree, you see those leaves rustle, sway, turn, and for a brief moment its all magical, and then you snap out of it , its just the wind, and why were talking to a tree.
Rather wasting time talking to a plant, call 1300 tree-removal, and keep warm by the fire.
Good news. The meeting went very well and, as was made clear, it is only one of a number of consultative processes that will precede auDA taking a reform proposal to the Government. BTW, nobody was able to answer this important question: apart from the obvious personality clashes and the lingering bad blood, what is actually wrong with the way in which domain names are made available to the public?
