pay.com.au sells sold domain name sale

Pay.com.au sells for $168,000

Just last week came the news that Money.com.au sold for $400,000(.) One week later comes the news that Pay.com.au has just sold for $168,000(!)

This is the largest 3-letter Australian domain name sale on record and was brokered by Ned O’Meara (former editor and creator of this very site!). It appears Ned is like Whispering Jack and comes out of retirement for “just one last show” every now and then 😉

Many domain industry veterans are proposing this week that the value of Australian domain names are shooting up as the brand new auDA Rules are being brought into existence and Direct .AU is preparing to launch in the first half of next year.

Ola.com.au would’ve gone for more, sold in 2018.

Urge you to do some investigative journalism Rob!

Agree.

Have seen an offer exceeding $600,000 on a name a registrant paid only $1,000 for. Refused the offer. (Not 3L but less than 10 letters).

Unfortunately there are too many end users who think that Drop and Netfleet results equate with fair value, rather than wholesale.

Unless you and others publish & report on sales don’t expect that to change.

eg. Why do you think Jeff Marr paid $90k for Toys.com.au? Because it’s worth 10 x as much.
