Over 15,000 Direct “.au” domain names dropped last week alone.

Last week, over 15,000 Direct .au domain names were dropped by their owners.

Of those, only 587 were re-registered by new owners, bought from “the drops”.

This means that of the roughly 15,000 Direct “.au” domains that dropped last week, only 3.9% were seen as “valuable” and re-registered.

The registrar trick was to set most to auto renew without the regustrants even noticing.

If people really kept an eye on the billing and renew emails probably 50% of .net.au, .au, .com.au would be all dropped…

There is a lot of shit no value .au domains still registered with no chance or ever being sold or developed to get the cost, admin and time back.

The true cost of a domain is also people’s time and what else that money could have been spent on or invested in.

Dump your shit names now.

Wake up.

Keep your best names only. Monetise, sell for what someone will really pay or develop them.
