Domain Name 2019

February 2019 Update

Why so quiet, Domainer?

Not quiet. BUSY!

Plus, we’re all waiting to hear some updates/news from auDA about “certain topics”.

So, in the meantime, let’s have a general February 2019 update…

I’ve just returned from the last ever NamesCon 2019 in Las Vegas after spending two weeks living and breathing domain names. Well, okay, there was a little “relaxing” and “resetting” involved as well.

NamesCon is moving to Austin Texas next year, and also changing which month it’s hosted…

The most exciting new topic I took away from my recent Las Vegas NamesCon visit was the possibility of Domain Names being used on the blockchain, coming into existence in the not-too-distant future.

Wait. What did I just say?

You’ll have to wait and see.

Next week, Ed and I are interviewing a special guest, who I saw speak about “Domain Names on the Blockchain” at NamesCon 2019, and he is going to tell you all about it on the next Domainer Show.

So we’ll leave that exciting topic right there for now…

In terms of recent Australian Domain Name sales, I have been selling between two to four domain names every week this year. Some of my own, and some for my clients.

More and more businesses are requesting DBR doesn’t publicly announce their sales, but I will be happy to share at least two recent sales with you next week.

In the meantime, if anyone of you would like to share a sale, please feel free to share it in the comments section below, or phone me up, like a lot of you like to do, and gloat about it over the phone ๐Ÿ™‚

I think it’s important we all at least share 10-20% of our sales to help the industry keep a gauge on what’s going on. Come on, think about the greater good sometimes please ๐Ÿ™‚

Some exciting things coming our way in 2019.

I look forward to speaking with our guest about blockchain and domains, very interesting!!

I totally agree with you Rob about more people sharing the details of their domain sales specifically the sale price. It would be a great help to others.

I will share one of my sales in the next podcast.

Cheers

Ed
