The premium domain name Domains.com.au is dropping tomorrow.
I wonder who will win it?

I spotted this name on the drop.com.au auctions late yesterday but then it disappeared today from the drop.com.au auction list and you could not bid for it?
Maybe it is not dropping at all now or what is happening with it?
As mentioned on this LinkedIn discussion, the domain “Domains.com.au” is dropping tomorrow, but it doesn’t appear possible for anyone in Australia to place a bid to purchase the domain name in a fair way.
Seriously, what’s the point of bidding on this when the owner of drop (or his mates) can just make whatever silly high bid they like, regardless what the final bid needs to be and regardless of consequences? In reality, he’s only paying himself the winning bid, making the domain free for the taking.
Am I being cynical? Sure, maybe. But this whole domain auction monopoly in Australia is just sickening right now if you ask me.
By this point, everyone knows who really cares about the domain community and who doesn’t. Who plays fair and who doesn’t. Your own ACTIONS show which side you’re on. Act accordingly.

Exactly Rudy. The peasants will just have to be grateful for whatever scraps fall from the table. We know where all the good domains go.
There appears to be very little that can be done about it right now.
The one horse in the one-horse race won the domain.
Surely this is a monopoly and there should be a vote of no confidence from the Australian government applied to the registrar.
Surely the Australian government or the ACCC should be looking into this?
